These days one thing I strongly dislike is watching scam-related news on TV. Politics no longer remains a topic to be discussed with any interest. As a matter of national duty, we cast our vote every five years. But where do we stand now after witnessing all these crimes wherein we have been daily robbed to the tune of lakhs of crores ? I really dont know. All I can do to give vent to my anger and frustration is through writing. I hope your feelings will resemble my feelings as you read this poem...
Bleeding wounds and an unhealed scar,
Still we are proud of what we are !
One of world's largest democracies ourselves we call
To new depths of shame we prepare ourselves to fall.
We are marching towards progress they say
Huge pictures of prosperity they drew
But as new scams are unearthed everyday
I wonder if all the rejoicing was true !
Difficult times are these today
Days when we are daily robbed;
Of scams children talk as they play
In a nation where the common man is daily mobbed.
With a deep sigh and endless rue,
We mourn our nation's sorry state.
Still every five years together we queue
Ready to re-elect our new fate !!!
